“Fillo” ... the stingy elephant
“Fillo” ... the stingy elephant
Positive Education: to read to our children
I learned
this story from a book in Arabic, titled “70 Stories to Tell Your Children”,
with my personal French translation, and I want to thank my eldest son for
these colorful drawings.
In this
story, we are going to discover to our “benevolent” people the consequences of
a person who is, unfortunately, “stingy”… We must take advantage of our reading
for them, to teach them the basics of being “sociable”. ”In their lives, so
that they are always happy in community…
The story to
be told to his little ones at bedtime is an inevitable act, because it is a
moment when the child feels that his parents are "unoccupied" for him.
Telling a story to your child
is a very essential fact for his intellectual and psychological growth,
moreover it is a moment of complicity to spend together; so let's read the
story of “Fillo… the stingy elephant”.
“Fillo” ... the
stingy elephant:
It is said that once, a pretty elephant who lived in community with
other animals, and who was called "Fillo ".
One day, like every day, “Fillo ”
will go out for a walk among the fruit trees, to collect something to eat
during the rest of his day; and suddenly, amazed, he stopped in front of a
magnificent banana tree ...
"Fillo ", then, picked up
all the bananas from the fruit tree, and piled them into a crate which hid it
in its shelter.
One day, “Fillo ” met his friend “ the turtle ”; the latter seemed to her pale and quite tired… thus, she said to him: "I come back from the doctor of the forest, he said I'm overworked, and bananas or any fruit rich in magnesium prescribed for me… "
"Fillo" seemed disturbed, and
before he was about to turn away, he replied: "Oooooow ... too bad,
bananas I had plenty in my home, but now, I have nothing left"
Sad, the turtle all disappointed left him ... As for "Fillo",
he continued his walk quite happy.
One day "Fillo"
fell ill ... And all assured and confident, he said to himself: "Well I
know ... I have a lack of magnesium, as for my friend the turtle, but me I have
benefited more. Because a lot of bananas in my crate are massaged… ha ha hhhhh”; the
elephant then opened his crate, and there, "surprise": all the
bananas were moldy...
However, "Fillo"
realized the big mistake he had made… “Fillo” had enough bananas, not
only to enjoy them but also to allow others to benefit from them; but it
was a good lesson for him, because “Fillo ” promised himself, henceforth, to change his “avarice”
by generosity.
